Gym friendly flip flops

Finally! I was starting to think this day would never come; flip flops that get your gams (a.k.a legs) in shape? Okay, well not flip flops but FitFlop Shoes. These athletic flip flops may very well replace tennis shoes at the gym, which is fine by me. I hate wearing tennis shoes, to the gym or any other place.

Must-have fashion: The tunic top

Happy Tuesday, ladies! I was awaken way too early this morning by the cable guy installing my land line. So, since I was up I figured I’d do some online shopping. Check out this very hip tunic I found on Bluefly.

“What’s so hip about it,” you ask. Well for starters, tunic tops are great for any day of the week, especially when they’re are made from a jersey material. They flatter every figure, and can be dressed up or down without too much of a fuss. Take for instance the black jersey henley tunic by Clu, pictured to the left. For a day look I would throw this tunic on over a black tank top and pair it with leggings, or a pair of skinny jeans, and black ballet flats. I’d accessorize with my signature silver hoops, a cocktail ring, and my huge black bag.

However, to take this look into an evening dinner date I would exchange my ballet flats for a pair of funky sky high heels, layer a few long necklaces, trade in my huge black bag for an oversized clutch, and add silver bangles. Any way you choose to wear this tunic, it is a must have for your closet!

J Crew and the most fantabulous tweed jacket EVER!

I was looking through J Crew‘s website this morning, looking for some fashions to add to the COVERINGS site and my eyes behold the most fantabulous tweed jacket EVER! When I think of tweed, I think of a polished conservative look, but this new Casette-tweed Marcel jacket from J Crew makes wearing tweed look young and hip. The jacket is part tweed jacket, part cropped motorcycle jacket.

The cut of the jacket keeps it within the confines of the traditional tweed jacket, complete with 3/4 length sleeves. Travel Deals: Swine flu free Mexico

I love to travel, as anyone who’s seen my passport can attest to. I’ve been to South Korea, Japan, Thailand, and France. So, few things get me as excited as the opportunity to explore someplace new! Thanks to the very unnecessary fear the media  inflicted on the world over the N1H1 “pandemic,” which turned out to be less harmful than the seasonal flu, travel to Mexico is in a slump. So, if you are in need of a vaca, why not take advantage of the extremely discounted travel packages to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico? I fully intend to. As a matter of fact, I’m getting my passport ready and contacting my travel buddy as we speak.

The deals right now are ridiculous (in a good way). You can have an all inclusive 3 night trip to Cabo for less than $500! Why Cabo, you ask? Uh, because it’s Cabo. Everybody who’s anybody heads there to kick up their heels and get some sun. And while I’m not a celebrity groupie, I definitely would not mind seeing some of Tinseltown’s leading men lying out soaking up some rays. Seriously, head out of town and away from the stress of everyday life for a few days.  It will do you some good, and maybe I’ll even see you there. With prices this low, I may go twice.

Bright summer handbags

This week we’re loving oversized handbags in bright summer colors. I just picked up the tote pictured to the left. I would tell you where to grab one but I would have to get real unChristian if I saw one of you ladies stealing my style. I get my love of oversized everything from my mom. She always had big hair, big sunglasses, and a big handbag. I think I carry large bags, partly, in homage to her. But mostly, I love how fashionable they can make even the most basic outfit look. Throw on your favorite pair of figure flattering jeans, a cute graphic tee, and make it all come together with a big white, yellow, fuschia, or apple green bag. You’ll look great and have more than enough room in your purse to carry all your summer must haves.

Good morning, ladies.

Kohl’s apt.9 line

I’m sure we are all having to go through our wardrobes to see what fits, what’s out of style, and what just plain needs to go. After I went through all of my clothing for the new spring season I came to the realization that nothing was going to be salvageable.  Am I picky? Probably. Regardless, I had to start shopping for some new basic items. Thankfully, it wasn’t hard since there’s a new brand in town. I ended up finding most of my key, trendy items at Kohl’s.  They have this new line called apt. 9 Not only do their clothes actually fit a woman with curves but they are trendy and hip!  I get compliments all the time.  Not to mention the prices are incredible.
