TLC’s Carmindy Inspires Natural Makeup for Sally Hansen

Happy Friday, ladies!
And to make it even happier, I just had to share my new beauty bag must have. While I’m a MAC girl to the core when it comes to my eyes, the rest of my face is LOVING the new Sally Hansen Natural Beauty inspired by Carmindy line.
The name Carmindy sound familiar? Well, it should. She’s only the effervescent faced makeup artist for TLC’s What Not To Wear. I’ve been a fan of the show for years and am constantly in awe of how dewy, sun-kissed, and flawless Carmindy’s skin always looks. I have been using her line of Natural Beauty products for almost 2 months, and I have to say I’ve never had such flawless coverage or so many compliments on my makeup.
I leave my house at 7:30 a.m. to head to work and when I get home at 6:45 p.m. my face looks exactly the same. The primer is amazing. It sets everything perfectly. My shadow doesn’t crease, my liner doesn’t run, my skin looks perfectly even and dewy and never oily. I am seriously in love. While her Airbrush Spray Makeup only comes in a handful of shades. I have been able to wear the same color and get a perfect color match no matter how many shades my skin has darkened over the summer. As a matter of fact, the coverage is so great that I can actually skip wearing the Fast Fix Concealer. And, the Forever Stay Moisture Gloss leaves my lips feeling, well…moisturized. I don’t have to worry about feathering and it’s perfect for layering with my favorite lipstick if I want a richer hue.
I’m so excited about this line of makeup and think you ladies will instantly fall in love with it. Even if you just mix and match pieces with your tried and trusted makeup staples, this Carmindy inspired line plays well with others and well give you beautiful skin with every application.

Beauty Products Mom Convinced Me To Use

Many of us celebrated our mothers this past Sunday by showing her with gifts and dinner. Mom was a significant key to teaching us life skills and pinchon for picking out great beauty products. My mother played a significant part in my spiritual walk with God, learning to cook, recite a poem in class, and my love with Jergens Original Body Lotion. I think the scent reminds me of her and that is the main reason I like it so much.
Totalbeauty.com took a in-office survey of women who got hooked on beauty products. Here is what they said:
Neutrogena Rainbath Shower & Bath Gel, $23.99
“This was a staple in our showers growing up — likely because it could be purchased at Costco (called Price Club back then) in a 40 oz. bottle. But this remains one of the best shower gels I’ve ever used (though I must admit I am more of a bar soap fan). It leaves skin feeling super clean, but never totally dried out. And it has a classic, fresh scent that isn’t too fruity or floral — definitely guy friendly.”

“My mom introduced me to Lancome Definicils, still my all-time favorite mascara and no. 1 beauty obsession.”
– Sarah Carrillo, Senior Associate Editor
Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, $24
“When I was 12, my mom took me to the Clinique counter and got me started on the 3-step system. I used it till I was in college … and actually still sometimes use Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion on my face.”
– Susan Yara, Associate Editor
Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion SPF 55, $39
“According to my mom, all my bad traits were from my dad’s side of the family: acne, bad eyes, bunions, etc. My mom’s biggest complaint though was my skin. She said I had the skin of a 40-year-old at the age of 16, thanks mom! So she introduced me to Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion. I still use it every day and when I ran out of it while traveling in Italy I spent a ton of Euros to replenish my stash.”

Prada Does Perfume For Her
Last April, Prada’s Infusion de Fleur d’Oranger was publicly launched. The orange-blossom scent quickly marks its spot as one the hottest perfumes to debut. It is packaged in a collector’s box printed with a beautiful Art Nouveau pattern from the Prada textile archive. The scent is drawn from a series of limited edition “Ephemeral Infusion” Prada’s exclusive fragrance. Much like the Infusion d’Iris, Infusion de Fleur d’Oranger has a layer of sparkling orange blossom on top with notes of neroli, orange blossom, tuberose, jasmine and serendoline.
Other new fragrance to debut is Infusion de Tubéreuse. This latest edition to the collection is a mix of Indian tuberose, petitgrain bigarade (its from the leaves of the bitter-orange tree), and hints of dynamone to balance out the floral/citrusy notes, a bit sweet for our own taste, we’re quite drawn to Infusion de Vetiver, the first masculine eau de toilette in the series. Tarragon, Madagascan pepper, and purple ginger—surprising hints of grapefruit combined that wears well with our female pheromones. Some critics suggest wearing both fragrances which can only enhance the organdy scent. They last for hours and are well worth the value you pay to collect them.
Burberry Review

Burberry London was created in 1856 and is sold at fine stores like Sephora. There are many varieties in the collection to choose from, both men and women. Sephora sells the fragrances as gift sets or alone and the sets come with lotions or shower gel.
Burberry brand was inspired by the elegance and image of London. Currently, burberry has introduced a limited summer edition of the classic fragrance. This scent for women is made up of crisp, citrusy fruits like green apple, delicate flowers like freesia and water lily, mossy woods and musk for a rich and clean scent. It is a daytime fragrance perfect for the upcoming summer season. the scent can be applied to the skin or on clothes comes highly recommended because it seams to last longer this way.
Think Twice Before You Buy

It is a waste of your time to buy toner. Toner is no longer needed now that cleansers no longer leave a filmy residue on the skin. Another unnecessary product is the neck cream. A more affordable treatment would be to use a moisturizer with sunscreen by day and a retinol cream each night. Got dry flaky lips? A simple lip balm will help provide a remedy to the situation instead of a lip exfoliator. Also, if they are super flaky, try removing it by using a tissue and lightly rubbing it over your lips. Have you seen the foot mask? It is better to use the use a moisturizer to smooth out dry cracked skin than the mask. Finally, cellulite dissolving creams, foams, lotions or pills. A good sunscreen will prevent a loss of collagen which, UV rays can cause the skin to become more dimpled.
Comfortable Heels

Put aside the thought of Birkenstocks and loafers when it comes to comfort. How about heels that combined the comfort and style? Dr. Jacqueline Sutera, a podiatrist and spokesperson for the American Podiatric Medical Association, for advice on the perfect heel. Dr. Sutera recommends shoes for women that will maximize comfort and minimize the pain and damage to our feet.
First, take a look at the arch of the shoe, cushioning, and shock absorption. Look for shoes with extra cushion in the heels and front of the shoe, in addition to cork heels. Cork is crucial to absorbing shock. Avoid pointy- toed shoes, and limit your time in heels over three inches.” Her favorite brands are Nine West, BCBG and Tahari as well as Aerosoles and Geox.
She says the shorter the heel the better, because there is less damage to the back. Try to limit your everyday heel to under three inches to reduce stress on the heel. A heel that is 3 inches can put seven times the stress as a one inch. Avoid bone crushing heels with the deep toe boxes and opt for a chunkier heel to distribute your weight more evenly.
I have found a few shoes that come highly recommended. Try the Nine West Rocha pump ($78.95, nordstrom.com), BCBGeneration Titta2 pump ($80, zappos.com) or Aerosoles Women’s Pep Rally open-toe pump ($43.97, endless.com).
Love the Prints!

It is beginning to feel a lot like Spring! So I have looking for the latest fashion to find that printed sundresses will be the craze. I noticed that Old Navy and Target are advertising their colorful and vivid print dresses at reasonable prices. The multi-colored vivid prints I found on the famous take on a life of flowers, diagonals, stripes, and zany patterns that I am excited about.
Should we throw out the Capri pant? I think not. However, I will have a harder time deciding what to wear now because of my love for the dresses. I can remember how I felt as a little girl when I would wear sundresses. I thought I was a little lady, all dressed up in my fancy shoes, and maybe a hat, too. Doesn’t everyone feel and look gorgeous in a sundress?
I see that some women wear them now. I have seen the short dress paired with boots or with leggings. This look is just fine for your twenties and early thirties. So whether it is a mini, knee-length, or ankle length dress, go out and find one that suits your personality.

Bold Beauty Look

Red lipstick makes a very bold statement on the runways. Now that spring is just around the corner, we can lighten our wardrobe add a splash of red to finish the look. I know that I have spring fever because I cannot wait to wear the colors of spring! Bright and brilliant colors – red, orange, yellow, pink, pale blue and green that make my feel all girlie inside. Oh, my!
I can’t wait for the snow to melt so that we can come dout and play. I am also ready for the flowers to bloom, the birds to begin chirping again, the grass to grow green, and the laughter of kids playing outside in celebration of the season of new beginnings.
The best shades of red are recommended for the following skin tones:
Fair skin tones should use coral shades like YSL Rouge Volupte in No. 6 and Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Fire and Ice.
Medium skin tones should use reddish shades with golden undertones like Rouge Dior Lipstick in Premiere or CoverGirl TruShine Lipcolour in Valentine Shine.
Dark skin tones can use rich colors like Lancomes L’Absolu Rouge in Smoky Rouge and L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Lipcolour in Red Rhapsody.
Now that I have an idea of the color of my lipstick, I am ready to don my hair in a stylish updo, put on a strapped sundress, however, it is barely above the freezing point in the Midwest. Come on spring!
A Glimpse at The Milan Fashion Week

The fashionables trends in Milan are said to set the pace for the rest of us from the dress to hairstyles. Top designers displayed many elegant pieces, including berets, sheepskin jackets, and billowing skirts. Spring is finally around the corner.
One particular fashion designer was Alberta Ferretti, who showcased a nude chiffon dress with long sleeves and a plethera of pintucks which created a pure vision of loveliness. This dress is the epitomy of spring, a hint of romanticim and whimsy! This designer is known for pinning, tucking, and draping the dress for a feminine look.
Next, a romper stopped the show and yes, they are back. They also have short jumpsuits made of tweed fabric coupled with boots and a jacket for the younger women’s tastes. There were interesting arrangements of leather and fur to finish a sophisticated look.
Donatella Versace showcased the classic ageless look. There are chiffon gowns, cashmere, denim, leather and mini dresses to don the runway.
