High Shine Holiday
The holiday season is in full swing and nothing says, “celebrate” like an outfit with sparkle. But, it’s a fine line between looking like a perfectly styled holiday hostess and looking like a hot holiday mess. Well, that’s what I’m here for. Follow these simple tips and you’re guaranteed to pull off an outfit that truly shines.
1. A little sparkle goes a long way.
Don’t loose yourself in a sea of glitter, spangles or sequins. Pick one piece that sparkles and let it be the centerpiece of your outfit.
2. Don’t overdo it on accessories.
Actually, this is just a good rule to follow in general. Besides a purse and the right pair of shoes, you only need to add a pair of earrings and a ring, OR earrings and a cuff/bangles. You do not need all three and I can almost guarantee that you won’t need a necklace. Especially if your shimmery piece is on top.
3. Do it big, or don’t do it at all.
The key to pulling off a glam holiday look is to embrace it. Do a smoldery smoky eye or a bold bright lip. Try a messy side swept chignon or big tousled hair. Maybe even add some fake lashes to your look. If you stop half way, you’ll end up with a look that falls flat.

Tanja’s Top Three Special Occasion Dress Picks
David Meister evening collections began about twelve years ago to bring rich color and fabrics with amazing silhouettes much to his success. Meister’s early career with Danskin inspired his success today with evening-wear and couture.
This black lace floor length number, with its mermaid skirt, flatters every body type. This David Meister creation shows off an hourglass figure and ensures that that you will make a dramatic appearance. If you are petite, this dress will make you appear taller. The curvy figure will only be enhanced at the waist and the strapless, or one shoulder, diverts the eyes from the center of the dress where we tend to carry weight at the bottom.
For shapelier curves, try a David Meister evening dress coupled with a lengthy blazer or trench coat. The inspiration of the gold dress paired with the leopard print is a polished and sophisticated look. Add a belt to cinch the waist and create gathers and texture that pair perfectly with a dramatic collar to give your body the illusion of more dimension.
To play down those womanly curves, you can put on a Carmen Marc Valvo dress. The skirt has plenty of pleats to make the hips appear narrow and a discreet cut at the shoulders can play down the bust. Stick to just one color to accentuate the slim and longer look created by the use of pleats, seams, and long necklines.
David Meister collections can be found at fine stores like Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Mother’s Day fashion
Everyone knows Mother’s Day is only a few days away. If the thought of sifting through rack after rack of clothing for the perfect Mother’s Day outfit is leaving you short of breath, then let us help. We combed through online page after page of dresses and found the best offering of Mother’s Day garb at Macy’s. We hand picked the cream of the crop and are delivering them to you. Honestly, the best thing about Mother’s Day, besides seeing the huge grin your present puts on your mom’s face, are the fashions displayed in church. The hats, the shoes, the dresses…it’s the ultimate fashion show. Don’t be upstaged this year.
This Anne Klein pleated dress with full skirt is perfect for any mom. The fun fuchsia color is perfect for a warm day and the knee length hemline is perfect for Mother’s Day church service.
The leaf motif is very haute this season, and you can never go wrong with classic black and white. This Alfani Printed Sleeveless Sheath Dress is a perfect marriage of those two elements.

Anne Klein is on a roll this Mother’s Day! This second dress is belted with pleated floral print skirt. The solid black top and faux wrap structure is ideal for camouflaging a less than taut tummy.

When I see “French Connection” I instantly think “fashion forward.” For the mom who pushes the fashion envelope, this is the perfect dress. This ankle length frock is obviously 70s inspired, paying homage to the maxi dress. Pair French Connection’s Wave Catcher Printed Jersey Maxi Dress with a cropped cardigan, or a set of sleeves, a pair of summer wedge heels, and an extremely large brimmed floppy straw hat.

Jones New York’s Floral Sweetheart Dress makes me think of Michelle Obama’s recent fashionable tour across Europe. Infused with 50s fashion the style and cut of this dress would go great with peep-toe stacked heels and very large neck baubles with earrings to match.

Lauren by Ralph Lauren Wilhelmina Belted Linen Dress, offers a look that is classic and conservative. The square neck and the hemline that hits just below the knee works for any mom. Why? Because you can get this look in petite and plus size, as well.

Last, but certainly not least, is this London Times Sleeveless Floral-Print Belted Dress. The black floral printed on this white dress, and accented by a black color block wide hem is an updated twist on a classic look.
