boyfriend trend Boyfriend inspired fashionsWhat is it about your boyfriend’s clothes that make you look so good? You know what I mean. I for one love to “borrow” my boyfriend’s clothes and make them part of my wardrobe. The fact that his clothes are entirely too big for me doesn’t seem to matter because somehow his clothes hang on me just right. Well, fashion designers have finally caught up to what us fashion-forward thinking women have been doing for years…raiding our boyfriend’s/husband’s closets. Boyfriend inspired fashion is all the rage. Jeans, blazers, tees, and accessories…if your boyfriend wears it, now you can too. Best of all, some of our favorite brands are on this bandwagon. Designers from C&C California, ASOS, and even eco-friendly J Brand are all offering great pieces inspired by our boyfriends but made for women. Check out our boyfriend wardrobe gallery to see our favorite pieces and how to wear them.

Marni ‘Runway’ shoulder bag

marni large lambskin shoulder bag Marni Runway shoulder bagHola, ladies!
How ferosh is this purse?! So ferosh that I had to feature it in our “Stuff We Love” section and then proceed to find an entire outfit that is designed around it; check out the pic below. Why am I drooling over this large lambskin shoulder Runway bag from Marni? Well, besides its obvious fabulousness, it’s just an all around great bag. I’m totally digging the teal, which is one of this season’s hottest hues. The color makes the purse wearable year round. With just enough gray to mute it, the teal is not too bright to wear through the fall and winter months. The large silver clasp is the perfect amount of hardware and the size and shape of the bag keep it from being overwhelming. Even petite bodies can tote it. Plus, the overlapping pleats add an extra bit of texture. It’s practically perfect…and it has the price tag to prove it

To get your hands on this bag, head on over to Marni.com. And for more teal colored fall fashion, CLICK HERE.

Skip this trend: 20′s Inspired headbands

asos sequin and bead fabric mischa barton style headband Skip this trend: 20s Inspired headbandsEvery magazine I look in, every website I go to this hideous “trend” is staring me in the face. When did it become cool to wear 20s Flapper inspired head bands again? Umm news flash, it didn’t! This look is just a big ol’ fashion mess! I admit that there are about a handful of people who can actually pull this look off and not look totally ridiculous but I can say with almost 100% certainty that the vast majority of people reading this article do not fall into that category. And if you think you’re going to “prove me wrong” and do it anyway I can assure you that the only person you’ll be hurting is yourself (and the people looking at you who have to keep a straight face).

Seriously, if you are not from a culture that wears headbands as part of your everyday dress or if you’re not wearing drop waist Flapper garb and dancing the Charleston, then please don’t try to pull this look off. I know you think you look cool but you don’t, and believe me people are laughing at you (or at least I will be).

Get the look: Christian Rocker

rihanna Get the look: Christian RockerYesterday I was perusing the internet and totally coveting everything I saw when I put together this look for you gals. I am really digging the whole rocker chic look. I think Rihanna has it down to a science, right down to the the super cool faux hawk.

To get this Christian rocker chic look, you have to start with a rocker graphic tee. One of my favorite alternative bands is Lifehouse, a Christian band that has managed to have huge mainstream crossover success. Grab this graphic tee and represent this three man band. Pull on a pair of slightly distressed boyfriend jeans and roll them up a little. Stay away from a “perfect cuff” as the key to rocker chic is look of disarray without looking like you planned it.

What really pulls this look together are accessories, which is true of most outfits. Pairing your jeans and graphic tee with pumps instead of flip flops is what brings the look to another level. Polish things off with accessories you can’t overlook. Check out our lookbook picture gallery below.

Haute summer sunglasses

One of the things I love about the warm weather months is the long sunny days. Why? Because I get to sunglasses resized Haute summer sunglassesbreak out my 50 billion pairs of sunglasses. Okay, maybe 50 billion pairs is overstating things a little bit but I definitely have a nice collection of summer sunglasses.

What makes a great pair of sunglasses? Well, I say, “If they leave just enough of your face exposed so you can breath then they’re perfect!” However, I don’t believe in breaking the bank to adorn your face. In my opinion, sunglasses should be a frugal fashion statement. Mostly because I accidentally drop mine, or leave them sitting on the table of the restaurant I just left, or my little cousins “want to see them” and they end up broken. Thankfully, haute sunglasses aren’t hard to find. Take, for instance, these sunglasses I found online. They’re fashionably haute, and so are the prices! You can get your hands on these designer inspired sunglasses for just $5-$20. Check out our top picks in our sunglasses picture gallery below, or CLICK HERE for more summer sunglasses looks from BleuDame.com

Must-have fashion: The tunic top

clu black jersey henley tunic Must have fashion: The tunic top Happy Tuesday, ladies! I was awaken way too early this morning by the cable guy installing my land line. So, since I was up I figured I’d do some online shopping. Check out this very hip tunic I found on Bluefly.

“What’s so hip about it,” you ask. Well for starters, tunic tops are great for any day of the week, especially when they’re are made from a jersey material. They flatter every figure, and can be dressed up or down without too much of a fuss. Take for instance the black jersey henley tunic by Clu, pictured to the left. For a day look I would throw this tunic on over a black tank top and pair it with leggings, or a pair of skinny jeans, and black ballet flats. I’d accessorize with my signature silver hoops, a cocktail ring, and my huge black bag.

However, to take this look into an evening dinner date I would exchange my ballet flats for a pair of funky sky high heels, layer a few long necklaces, trade in my huge black bag for an oversized clutch, and add silver bangles. Any way you choose to wear this tunic, it is a must have for your closet!

fendi ivory spy bag Designer purses for every budgetThe Fendi Spy Bag is proving to be a purse that will stand the test of time. It’s been photographed on the arm of countless Hollywood starlets because let’s face it, they’re the only ones who can afford the $2,250 bag. Now, thanks to Houston based CCG Fine Apparel, you can get your hands on a Fendi Spy Bag, or any other designer purse of your dreams, for a fraction of the cost.

This new kid on the block, may even end up giving the infamous BagBorroworSteal.com a run for its money. Why rent a designer bag for $200 a month when you can buy a designer bag for less? Head over to the CCG Fine Apparel site and start shopping for your next designer purse. I actually just got finished ordering one.

Bright summer handbags

large yellow target tote Bright summer handbagsThis week we’re loving oversized handbags in bright summer colors. I just picked up the tote pictured to the left. I would tell you where to grab one but I would have to get real unChristian if I saw one of you ladies stealing my style. I get my love of oversized everything from my mom. She always had big hair, big sunglasses, and a big handbag. I think I carry large bags, partly, in homage to her. But mostly, I love how fashionable they can make even the most basic outfit look. Throw on your favorite pair of figure flattering jeans, a cute graphic tee, and make it all come together with a big white, yellow, fuschia, or apple green bag. You’ll look great and have more than enough room in your purse to carry all your summer must haves.
