Boyfriend inspired fashions
What is it about your boyfriend’s clothes that make you look so good? You know what I mean. I for one love to “borrow” my boyfriend’s clothes and make them part of my wardrobe. The fact that his clothes are entirely too big for me doesn’t seem to matter because somehow his clothes hang on me just right. Well, fashion designers have finally caught up to what us fashion-forward thinking women have been doing for years…raiding our boyfriend’s/husband’s closets. Boyfriend inspired fashion is all the rage. Jeans, blazers, tees, and accessories…if your boyfriend wears it, now you can too. Best of all, some of our favorite brands are on this bandwagon. Designers from C&C California, ASOS, and even eco-friendly J Brand are all offering great pieces inspired by our boyfriends but made for women. Check out our boyfriend wardrobe gallery to see our favorite pieces and how to wear them.
Get the look: Christian Rocker
Yesterday I was perusing the internet and totally coveting everything I saw when I put together this look for you gals. I am really digging the whole rocker chic look. I think Rihanna has it down to a science, right down to the the super cool faux hawk.
To get this Christian rocker chic look, you have to start with a rocker graphic tee. One of my favorite alternative bands is Lifehouse, a Christian band that has managed to have huge mainstream crossover success. Grab this graphic tee and represent this three man band. Pull on a pair of slightly distressed boyfriend jeans and roll them up a little. Stay away from a “perfect cuff” as the key to rocker chic is look of disarray without looking like you planned it.
What really pulls this look together are accessories, which is true of most outfits. Pairing your jeans and graphic tee with pumps instead of flip flops is what brings the look to another level. Polish things off with accessories you can’t overlook. Check out our lookbook picture gallery below.
5 Jeans for every body
I remember when buying a pair of jeans was fun, mostly because they only came in a handful of styles. Nowadays, it’s a chore I avoid like the plague. Walk into any store and you are overwhelmed by the number of cuts. But have no fear. I have braved this beast and come up with the best jeans for everybody.
Trouser
Wearing jeans to work has always been a dream of mine. Thanks to the new Denim Trouser, that dream has become a reality. In most cases, this jean comes in a wide leg or flared cut, which makes them perfect for every body type. What makes the look work appropriate is that it offers a tailored look. The waist doesn’t sit too low and skims your thighs instead of hugging them. Grab these jeans with a cuffed hem or beautiful button detail.
Wide Leg
I own multiple pairs of this jean. They are comfy and great when you have two hours to look like you lost 5 lbs. The wide leg jean always makes me feel like an Amazonian woman. They make you look long and lean. These jeans should always be paired with a heel and are most flattering on woman of average height or taller.
Skinny
Curvy woman beware. This type of jean is called skinny for a reason. While you don’t have to be stick thin to wear these, remember that these jeans are practically painted on once you get into them, so proceed with caution.
Boot Cut
This jean looks great on every shape and is a good way to be more casual but still seem polished. Throw them on with just about anything with any type of shoe and you’ll be comfy and cute.
Flared
If the Boot Cut jean and the Wide Leg jean had a baby this is what it would look like. This jean tends to fit a little tighter through the thigh to accentuate its bell-ish bottom, which gives a super slimming effect on fuller figures.
Mary Mary does Christian fashion

Who says there’s no such things as Christian fashion?! Not COVERINGS, and certainly not Mary Mary, as showcased on the cover of their latest album. The fashion plate sisters are pushing the envelope with more than just their music. The ladies poured themselves into little black dresses to grace their newest CD cover. Their knowledge of timeless style is clear with their choice, creating a cover that will be in vogue from now until Jesus comes.

The heavenly voiced duo doesn’t stop there. The sisters (literally, not figuratively) have been signed to be the faces of PZI Jeans. The brand boasts of jeans that fit real women with real God given curves. PZI Jeans offer a modern fit that make the “mom jean” obsolete, along with a no gap waist that compliments all shapes, sizes, and figures.
Mary Mary is feeling the backlash of being so fashion forward. However, as a fashionable Christian woman myself, I say, “Go ahead with your bad selves!” Revel in the body that God gave you. Celebrate it! After all, it is a temple. To see what the women had to say in their latest interviews with NPR and Essence magazine, click the links below.
